Who should use the service?
Anyone who as a part of their job needs to gain an understanding of national policies and political activity that will ultimately impact on councils as they deliver services that are in line with government guidelines, public expectations and local priorities.
Typically our local authority users will work in communications or policy teams or support the Chief Executive directly. As our licensing is flexible we can support several people within the organisation delivering value for money and fitting in with local structures.
Our aim is to save your council time and resources by ensuring you are fully informed on policy matters that will affect your local delivery priorities and service planning. This will help your council deliver its services in a more efficient way and position itself to win grants and boost income.
What does the service offer?
We have an editorial team that is more than 40 people strong. This enables us to cover a comprehensive and unrivalled group of sources for material relevant to our clients. Information is then analysed and intelligently tagged to ensure we supply only that which is directly relevant to each clients brief through a web based information portal.
Our services are personalised for each user and include these five key elements:
InfoStream - Minute by minute monitoring
InfoStream is your live political monitoring service, updated continuously as events occur throughout the day. Each report or piece of news is accompanied by a brief summary by our editorial team, so you can quickly see what’s relevant to you. It is also richly indexed by our team of political experts, to help you filter the information so that you see exactly what you need, and ignoring what you don’t.
In addition to comprehensive core monitoring of Parliament and press releases, InfoStream will bring you unique content that only DeHavilland provides. We attend and summarise all key parliamentary select committees, we attend political events, conferences and speeches where key policy announcements are often made, we listen to and summarise all major political TV and radio appearances, and we are unique in our work at party conference season where our team of reporters cover the speeches from the floor and many hundred key meetings on the conference fringe.
InfoPool - Research archive
Dating back to 1997, InfoPool is a gigantic archive of richly indexed information. You can find precisely the information you want; explore the background to a political decision; research the activity and statements of individuals and organisations; or research a specialist subject.
Schedule - Forward Planning
Your comprehensive political planning tool, Schedule helps you to plan for political events and foresee opportunities to influence the political agenda. You can view political activity in forthcoming weeks and months, and filter the information to see activity relating to your specialist subject.
Bill Tracker
Track or research the Bills, Draft Bill, White Papers and Green Papers of interest to you. At the click of a mouse you can also see all related debates, speeches, amendments, TV and radio discussion, and press statements. You should not miss a thing as you monitor legislation from Green Paper to Royal Assent.
Committee Tracker
You can keep on top of all developments from Parliamentary Committees including our unique summaries from their meetings and comment from the spokespeople on TV and Radio.
